Just a short drive and I do mean short, less than 5 minutes away if we catch the lights green, you’ll find the Shale Brewing Company.
Located in North Canton, Ohio (7253 Whipple Ave NW), Shale Brewing Company took over the space that once housed Scenic Brewing and was welcomed with open arms. With easy access from I-77 and local neighborhoods alike, Shale Brewing Company is like that good neighbor, perfect friend addition you always hope for.
They have a great space, as I mentioned that previously housed Scenic Brewing, Shale came in, made modifications, added a great outdoor space with a fire pit and really hit the ground running. The atmosphere is really laid back and relaxing. They have tons of seating and are adding new things all the time. At the time of this visit I noticed they added a shuffleboard table. Game on! I love those things!
Shale has a really great assortment of beers and offers some wine and mixed drinks as well… pretty much something for everybody. Their menu is great too. Nothing too over the top fancy, just good food to have while you enjoy your brews. You can never go wrong with the Schnack, a.k.a. braided pretzel and beer cheese. YES please!
It’s a great place to hold meetings or small-ish gatherings. We’ve held many meetings at Shale. I believe it was the true birth place of 3 Guys 6 Beers or at the very least where the plan was officially put into action! And we held many planning sessions for the North Canton Craft Beer Festival there too (May 16, 2020 by the way… mark your calendars)!
Shale rocks a super Happy Hour with $4 pints, $5 apps and other specials. They also have live music from time to time. Check their website for all the pertinent info! They also have plenty of well-lit parking right in front of the brewery.
I love having the Shale Brewing Company so close. It’s great to go to and support. Speaking of support, Shale Brewing Company is incredibly community minded and gives back often. I like that. That’s a big plus in my book.
So check it out. Try some beers, have some food, snuggle by the fire. Whatever! Just check it out, it’s worth it and definitely 3 Guys 6 Beers approved.
