Named after the 1830’s farmhouse on the Gervasi property, these types of ales were given to farm workers after a hard day. They were typically light in color and taste with a low ABV. This beer unfortunately left me wanting more… as in not another one of those. I didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it. In Gervasi’s defense, this beer is brewed by Thirsty Dog Brewing out of Akron and not by Gervasi themselves. Gervasi makes seriously good wine though. Incredible even.

So back to the Farmhouse. I was thinking that on the heels of their great wines, their beer would be equally good, but it just wasn’t. It reminded me so much of an IPA that I just wanted it to be over. I drank it, but I didn’t like it. Not to say that an IPA lover may not like it. But that’s not me.
