It was another bonus Friday night in regards to the weather in Northeast Ohio. When October hits in our area you never know what you’re going to get. Could be a blizzard, could be blazin’. It totally is Forest Gump’s box of chocolates. Absolutely.

It was a perfect night to sit out on a patio, enjoy dinner and have a couple of beers. We headed to our favorite watering hole, Royals Docks, for dinner and a couple of beers (post coming soon) and then home. It really was the perfect outside-dinner-beer-drinkin night. I should have followed it up with a fire outside when we got home. Oh well, next time.

I’d picked up the MadTree (Cincinnati, OH) Coffee Table Blonde Ale at Erik’s a couple days before and thought it would be a good choice to end the night. I didn’t want anything too heavy or dark, and this seemed perfect.

Yup. Sure was. As soon as I cracked it open, I could smell coffee. It was strong but not overpowering. It had a great pour with a nice head that stuck around until I finished it. The beer had a smooth taste and went down pretty easy. I would definitely recommend this beer to those that like ales and especially to those that like a good coffee flavor in their beers. It’s worth a try.

CHEERS!
